UPSL Announces Mid-Atlantic Expansion With FC Carolinas

Waxhaw, NC Based Pro Development Club Joins UPSL For Fall Season

April 12, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce FC Carolinas as its newest expansion club ahead of the Fall Season.

Based in Waxhaw, NC, FC Carolinas will begin UPSL play in the Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic Division. The club will host its home games at FC Carolinas Soccerplex (8177 Old Waxhaw Monroe Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173).

David Broxton is the Owner and President of FC Carolinas. Jorge Herrera is the Techical Director. Carra Wheat is the General Manager.

FC Carolinas was established in 2018 as a youth club and has grown to becomes one of the top development hubs in North Carolina. 
The team will compete exclusively in the UPSL. 

UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We're excited to welcome FC Carolinas as a member of the UPSL. FC Carolinas is a top local club that's looking to take it to the next level on their men's side. They have a great front office a great pipeline of talented players. We think they'll grow and be competitive in the UPSL's Mid-Atlantic Division very soon."

Dave Dixon is the Director of Soccer and Head Coach of FC Carolinas. Luke Sanford serves as Assistant Coach. Juan Villegas is the Goalkeeper Coach.

"FC Carolinas is excited to join the UPSL for the 2021 Fall Season. Our goal is to produce players for the professional game and the UPSL provides us that pathway," Dixon said. "It is exciting to think about competing for championships on a national level, and the opportunity to qualify for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in the future."

The club will announce its fixture calendar.

FC Carolinas is an American Soccer club currently based on Waxhaw, NC, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. FC Carolinas will begin play in the UPSL's Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic Division.

FC Carolinas can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
